Tony Pedriana

Tony Pedriana spent thirty-five years as a teacher and administrator in Milwaukee’s central city. He has spent his years in retirement meticulously researching the discrepancies between reading science and reading ideology and chronicled his findings in the book, Leaving Johnny Behind: Overcoming Barriers to Literacy and Reclaiming At-Risk Readers.  He currently resides with his wife Mary Jo in River Falls, Wisconsin where he manages an organization called Jump Start to Literacy, whose goal is to get books into the hands of low-income families.
